About Pediatric Dental Associates

Pediatric Dental Associates has been caring for the dental health of children and communities throughout Greater Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania since 1975.

History of Pediatric Dental Associates

We know that excellent dental experiences start with excellent dentists. Dr. Philip Siegel and Dr. Mark Goldstein founded Pediatric Dental Associates (PDA), at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia. Pediatric Dental Associates opened its second office in Northeast Philadelphia in 1978. Over the years, Pediatric Dental Associates expanded its ability to provide comprehensive pediatric dental care for infants, children, and teenagers throughout the region with additional offices in suburban Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, and expanded into New Jersey with its Cherry Hill office.

In 1995, Pediatric Dental Associates partnered with Episcopal Hospital — now part of Temple University Health System — to create the Advanced Education Residency in Pediatric Dentistry, training future generations of pediatric dentists.

Now, with the help of partners Dr. Kim Thomas, Dr. Alegria D’Agostino, Dr. Noah Quinn, and Dr. Paul A. Bahn along with our expertly trained dentists, staff, and residents, we are constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our patients and families. Our commitment is to continually raise the standards for pediatric dental care, professional education, and children’s’ advocacy throughout Greater Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Our Approach to Care

The best dental experiences are built on mutual trust between our dentists, patients, and their families. So that’s where we start. At Pediatric Dental Associates, we seek to engage parents and patients in proper dental health. From there we treat our patients as individuals while addressing the wide variety of dental health problems that children experience from birth through their teenage years. We believe that education is important. From diet through hygiene, we hope to engage every patient in playing an active role in having and maintaining healthy smiles.

Our goal at Pediatric Dental Associates is to address the immediate dental needs of every patient and then set them up with a dental home for all 6-month check-ups and treatment. We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive oral rehabilitation with appropriately conservative treatment techniques.

We look to make every dental experience a positive one. Things like “tell, show, do” and constant positive enforcement make a difference. For younger, or more anxious children, we have various options, such as administration of N2O (laughing gas) and conscious sedation at our offices. In addition, when necessary, general anesthesia is available at several facilities.

Commitment to Community

At Pediatric Dental Associates we believe strongly in serving our communities. We are devoted to extensive pediatric dental education, outreach, and advocacy throughout Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania and our entire state of Pennsylvania.

In addition to providing direct, pediatric dental care, we also offer all-encompassing outreach seminars and programs where our doctors and residents go into communities, schools, day care centers, and parent groups to provide oral health screenings and education along with dietary counseling. Additionally, our doctors and residents visit pediatrician’s offices to bring more awareness to the medical community about the importance of finding a stable dental home by age one and the importance of fluoride and oral health.
